My Official Review of the Air Fryer

I am OBSESSED with my new air fryer. Let me start from the beginning. I am OBSESSED with my new air fryer.

Let me start from the beginning.

So, I’m very hesitant to purchase new kitchen tools; especially ones that are large/ kinda clunky, on late night infomercials, and that just sound too good to be true. That’s why this one was purchased by my husband.

Last week, he came home talking about this surprise he had just purchased me. He had this ridiculous grin and was like, “you’re going to love it”. Obviously, I think I’m getting something for me: i.e. a new bag, some shoes, a day to myself, a massage… He then proceeded to tell me I need to prepare and get some ideas, so he’s going to go ahead and tell me what it is. At this point I’m giddy. A gift I need to prepare for?!

He texts me a picture of a freaking Air Fryer. I love to cook but, this is not a gift for me per se. He immediately mentioned wanting some chicken wings and his real motive emerged. After already despising the thing before it even showed up, I decided to give it a fair shot.

It was love at first sight. It made restaurant- quality chicken wings in less than 20 minutes with little manipulation or even effort. They required less than a tablespoon of oil and were crispy yet still moist.

To make sure it was not beginner’s luck, we decided to try dinner in the fryer as well― roasted chicken breast; another success. At this point I was hooked. My mind was racing with new ideas and I was documenting the whole thing on Instagram Stories fielding tons of questions.

That’s why I decided to write this post and truly encourage y’all to look into getting an air fryer.

No, they didn’t send me one for free nor did they compensate me for my opinion in any way. I’m just trying to help y’all out.

It can even handle breaded foods. I was worried the breading would fall of or wouldn’t completely brown; I was proven wrong again. I made some delicious chicken parmesan without all the dirty dishes and even slashed a few calories. The smashed potatoes were done in 10 minutes (in the air fryer, of course) and made for the perfect complement to our crispy chicken parmesan. I topped them with homemade pesto. Don’t worry, this recipe will be up real soon!

Did I mention is does dessert?

I do have an Amazon Affiliate link if you do decide to purchase one and want to support FirstandFull.com but regardless of where you get it, consider purchasing this kitchen workhorse.

I will be sharing the recipes featured in this post in the upcoming week!

EDITED 6/ 29/18

I STILL love the Power XL Air Fryer mentioned above but have also invested in the Breville Smart Oven Air. It would definitely be considered an investment, as it is pretty pricey but it’s capabilities exceed that of the Power XL air fryer. I use it daily as it serves as: my microwave, toaster, air fryer, and as the best way to heat up frozen foods! It’s larger and can cook more food at once but still works just as effectively as the other brand.
