Oh where to begin?! As soon as Christmas commercials started popping up on my television, things just took off. Can I even call this one an update if some of the events happened over three weeks ago? On the bright side, I have a ton of awesome pictures and stories to share, oh and the Chiefs broke their losing streak and destroyed the Redskins this afternoon!
I’ll start with our trip to California. Jeff truly believes that’s where we should eventually live. From the weather to the food, he LOVES it. He has this incredible smile on his face the moment we land and it remains until we leave. It’s nice to see him relax and truly enjoy himself even if it was for a very short moment. 
We were fortunate enough to spend 3 days in Los Angeles and another couple days in San Francisco. As I mentioned before my blogging hiatus, Jeff was asked to make an appearance on the NFL Network. Definitely another proud fiancé moment! He was a natural on camera and made it seem effortless. Here is a link to the segment if you’re interested!
We really like to eat. I didn’t know any better way to start this paragraph. We have tasted majority of what Kansas City has to offer so when we get the opportunity to travel, we avoid national chains, solicit the opinions of locals, and try different things. This trip, we went to Crustacean in Beverly Hills, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles (we had to right?), a hipster burger joint called Stout, and this adorable farmers market off Fairfax Ave. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions! All of them were delicious!
LA was great but I was really looking forward to San Francisco. I had never been before but had heard great things. There is only so much you can do with two days in a new city but we really made an effort to get around and experience as much as possible. Instead of renting a car or spending precious time learning bus routes, we utilized a service called Uber. It’s really popular on the west coast and is basically an on demand taxi service. You get picked up in Lincoln Towncars or Ford Expeditions and they will take you anywhere. There is no exchange of cash as everything is done via the app. By doing this, we got the opportunity to take in more of the scenery instead of me attempting to read a map and Jeff taking wrong turns… you get the point.
The city was smaller than I expected but was full of charm. The different cultural boroughs were quaint, the rail cars made me smile each time they whizzed by, and all the food was delicious. For 24 hours we had nowhere to be and actually enjoyed wandering around downtown and about the wharf.
While we were off the coast, Jeff was looking for some fresh seafood. This restaurant called Tadich Grill and came highly recommended.
