Jeff is on his way to Buffalo for this weekend’s match-up against the Bill’s thus giving me a little time to get reacquainted with my blog. I have so much to share, I have decided to break it up into a few different posts. This one will be a typical KC update and over the next few days, I will also share a recap of the dinner I hosted for the Offensive Line, a few recipes, and a health inspired post detailing my progress. Now would be a great time to subscribe to my blog at the bottom of the page!

Fair warning: proud fiancé moment coming up.

The Chiefs are 8-0, Jeff is healthy, and the town is buzzing. I truly couldn’t be happier. In addition to all this fabulous news, Jeff was one of the Team Captains for last week’s game against the Browns. #71photo-2

After this weekend’s game against the Bills they will head into BYE week and have time for some much needed rest and recovery. All they guys are a little banged up and hopefully by the end of the week, they will be refreshed, refocused, and ready for the Denver Broncos. I decided there was no better time to attend my first Chiefs away game. They need all the support they can get and plane tickets were surprisingly reasonable. We also just found out yesterday that the game time has changed and the Chiefs will be playing Sunday Night Football, a first for Jeff. To sweeten the deal, I’ll get to spend time with one of my good friends from college who now resides right outside Denver. I hear it’s gorgeous so I will be packing the camera and taking as many pictures as possible.

The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind. From O-lines dinners (more on that later), to impromptu baby showers, Halloween festivities, and America’s Got Talent, we have been EVERYWHERE. One of the best pieces of advice we have received since embarking on this journey was to avoid turning down opportunities. Jeff’s time in the NFL will represent a small piece of our lives when it’s all said and done, and we don’t want to look back and wish we had done or experienced more. For example, Jeff got a call the other day asking if he would be willing to do something in conjunction with America’s Got Talent. The top 5 finalists and the Grand Champion are currently on tour visiting 36 cities in 6 weeks. Jeff did a little photo op with them at Arrowhead Stadium and opened the show at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO. It was something he’s never done before but surprisingly he’s a natural on stage with a microphone.

During this upcoming BYE week, we decided to plan a mini trip and head to sunny California. While there, we will be visiting the NFL Network where Jeff will be interviewed on national television. I will post more details on my Facebook when I have them!  A couple days will be spent in LA and the remainder of the trip will be spent exploring San Francisco. If you have any travel tips or suggestions regarding where to eat, where to stay, etc., I would love to hear them!

Some Chief’s babies are about to be born, and our bible study group couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate. We brought presents, cupcakes, and a few decorations. We had a great time sharing stories (not that I had much to contribute) and guessing the gender of one the babies as the mom elected to keep it a surprise!

Halloween night was a little sad. There were no cute kids running around in their costumes nor were there any decorations. A downtown condo isn’t the best place to trick or treat I guess. Thank goodness the chiefs organization hosted their 4th Annual Healthy Halloween at Arrowhead. The event is in support of children with Type 1 diabetes. More information and photos can be found on the Chiefs Website

Some of the guys were in costume and others just donned their game jerseys as they signed autographs and took countless pictures with fans. Instead of candy, they served fruit, hot dogs, and sugar free pudding. There was also a Dj, crafts, and spooky stories for the kids to enjoy.

Maybe next year Jeff and I will get in the spirit!

So do you remember those adorable little twin girls I can’t stop taking pictures of? Well my friend asked me to photograph their family for their Christmas Card this year! I am so honored. I will be sure to let you all know how it goes. TWINS

Finally, a little update on Wedding planning! Save the dates are ORDERED and the wedding website is underway. I haven’t made wedding progress in a awhile so this is a relief.

Stay tuned for the other posts. I will be posting the Ricotta meatball recipe, a quick and healthy casserole, and my famous spinach dip recipe!
