Last weekend, we made the trip out to Quincy, Illinois to celebrate the marriage of Jack and Lauren Cornell. We get to this quaint town and realized we were in for a big party. Everyone we ran into asked, “are you headed to the Cornell wedding?!” After a beautiful Catholic Ceremony we all headed back to our hotel to rest up for the biggest party Quincy, IL has ever seen.

It was a grand celebration with at least 350 guests, 2 sheriffs, a vast open bar, a chocolate fountain and some of our closest friends from college. It was great to sit at a table with Jeff’s old college roommate, Graham, and his girlfriend Sarah as we laughed and reminisced about college even though we were all in Champaign together less than a year ago.

We can also claim we were in the presence of a Super Bowl champ! The groom was not only sporting his new wedding band, but also a big ol’ Super Bowl Ring.

My favorite part was the speech given by the Best Man and the Maid of Honor. They had prepared a list of “tips” on how the groom and bride could handle their new spouses. It was complete with props and shameless jokes. I might have to keep this in mind for my friend’s weddings!

Congrats again to the beautiful couple! See you on the other side soon!
