An EASY 6 ingredient slow cooker pulled pork recipe! It is well loved and tender + juicy.
Ingredients
8 lbs worth of pork shoulder
2 yellow onions, quartered
8 cloves of garlic, peeled
1 tbsp cumin
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp chipotle powder
1 tsp garlic powder
kosher salt + cracked black pepper
1 tbsp oil (anything other than olive oil)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 C chicken broth
Instructions
Dice the pork shoulder into large pieces and season liberally with kosher salt and pepper. Brown each side on medium- high heat for 2-3 mins in 1 tbsp of oil. Remove.
Season the seared pork with 1 tbsp cumin, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp chipotle powder, 1 tsp garlic powder.
In the bottom of the slow cooker, add the 2 yellow onions and 8 cloves of garlic. Place the roast on top.
Add the 1 C of chicken broth and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar.
Let cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. *all slow cookers behave differently. Check occasionally; the meat will start to fall apart.
